I would like to formally submit my name for consideration as a board director.
I would bring several key strengths to the board: a practical knowledge of museum leadership; academic expertise in museum anthropology; practical and theoretical understanding of Indigenous reconciliation with museums; experience with all levels of government arts and culture policy; as well as an understanding of museology, culture, and heritage in Canada’s north. I am dedicated to supporting Indigenous people in Canada to tell their own stories and continuing to look at ways to decolonize and modernize Canada’s arts and culture institutions.
I am interested in this position to learn about ICOM as a global organization and to mobilize it to supporting Canada’s museums to continue to play a positive role in society.
I have previous board experience in the arts and culture field, and take pride in my dedication, leadership, and contributions to those organizations. With a passion for art, culture, and archaeology, I believe I can make a positive impact by working with ICOM on the board.
